How to Care for 100% Merino Wool
Merino wool is a delicate fabric that requires gentle care to avoid shrinking, felting, or damage.
Washing:
- Hand wash in cold, or use the wool/delicate cycle on a washing machine.
- Use a mild, wool-friendly detergent (no harsh chemicals or bleach).
- Avoid agitation to prevent felting. Gently swirl or soak instead.
- Do not wring the fabric; squeeze gently to remove excess water.
Drying:
- Lay flat to dry on a clean towel, reshaping the garment while damp to avoid stretching or misshaping.
- Avoid direct sunlight and never use a tumble dryer or hang it, as wool is prone to stretching when wet.
- Steam to remove wrinkles if needed, but avoid ironing directly on the fabric.
